1. Introduction

LearnBooster ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of our users. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and disclose information when you use our platform at mylearnbooster.com and any related applications or services (collectively, the "Service").

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you register, we collect your first name, last name, email address, and a hashed version of your chosen password. We never store plain-text passwords.

Learning Profile

To personalise your experience, we collect your chosen exam (e.g. JAMB, WAEC), selected subjects, learning objectives, target score or grade, and expected exam date. This data is used solely to adapt our AI engine to your needs.

Usage & Performance Data

We automatically collect information about how you interact with the platform: questions answered, scores, response times, lesson progress, and quiz session data. This data powers our adaptive learning engine.

Technical Data

We may collect standard browser and device information including your IP address, browser type, operating system, and referral URL. This is used for security monitoring and service improvement.

3. How We Use Your Information

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secure servers hosted on cPanel-managed infrastructure. We use industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS) for all data in transit. Passwords are hashed using PHP's password_hash() with the bcrypt algorithm. Access to databases is restricted to authorised personnel only.

5. Cookies

We use essential session cookies to keep you logged in. We may also use analytics cookies to understand platform usage. For more details, please see our Cookie Policy.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate information, request deletion of your account and associated data, and withdraw consent for optional data processing at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at our contact page.

7. Third-Party Services

We use third-party services including our payment processor (Paystack) and email delivery provider. These services have their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them. We share only the minimum data necessary for them to perform their functions.

8. Children's Privacy

LearnBooster is intended for students aged 13 and above. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13 without appropriate consent, we will delete that information promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of material changes by email or by a prominent notice on the platform. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes your acceptance of the new policy.
